The archive

Replies usually within a fortnight. There is one person doing this and they are often out recording.

Research access

Written requests only. Tell us the record reference, what you are working on and whether you need the audio or the transcript. Access to unpublished records depends on what the subject agreed to.

Suggesting somebody

Please ask them first. We do not approach people cold and we will not follow up a name given without permission.

Press

We will talk about the project and the method. We will not put you in touch with a subject, arrange an interview with one, or supply audio for broadcast without their separate written consent.

Post

Passenger Seat, c/o the regional records office. Postal address supplied on request; we do not keep an office.

Before you write

There is one inbox and one person reading it.

Everything eventually gets a reply. If it has been more than a fortnight, the message has been missed rather than ignored, and a second one is welcome.
